KNOWLEDGE. The Lord says: “Let not the wise man gloat in his wisdom, or the mighty man in his might, or the rich man in his riches. Let them boast in this along; that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who is just and righteous, whose love is unfailing, and that I delight in these things. I the Lord, have spoken!” (Jeremiah 9:23-24)
Just knowing about God is not the same as knowing Him personally. People tend to admire four qualities in others. They are: (1) human wisdom, (2) power (strength), (3) kindness, and (4) riches. But God put a higher priority on knowing Him personally and living a life that reflects His justice and righteousness. What do you want people to admire most about you?

That’s why knowledge is so important. In the books of proverbs in the Bible says it will even make the “simpleminded” clever. It will give knowledge and purpose to your lives. Proper knowledge leads to purpose. Knowledge in Jesus changes our purpose in life. If you are struggling with your purpose in life, spend time studying and getting to know God’s word (Bible) and He will reveal His purpose to you. Wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy (Proverbs 2:10). Using the wisdom God has given us, saves us from choosing many wrong paths.
Can knowledge be harmful to us? In the book of Isaiah 47:10-11 in the Bible it says: “You felt secure in all your wickedness. ‘No one sees me,’ you said. Your ‘wisdom’ and ‘knowledge’ have caused you to turn away from me and claim, ‘I am self-sufficient and not accountable to anyone!’ So disaster will overtake you.” Knowledge is harmful when it leads us to think we no longer need God. If we think we can rely on our own smarts to make it through this life, we will be deeply disappointed.
